Butyl rubber

Butyl rubber is a synthetic rubber synthesized by copolymerization of 1% ~ 3% isoprene and isobutene monomer catalyzed by methanomethane chloride solution of AlCl3, with a small amount of unsaturated group for sulfur. Due to the steric hindrance effect of methyl, the movement of rubber molecular chains is more difficult than that of other polymers, so the gas permeability is low. Heat resistance, sun resistance, ozone resistance, good electrical insulation, resistance to polar solvents, such as alcohol, ketone, ester, etc.
Temperature range: -40¡æ ~ 100¡æ, short time up to 125¡æ

Advantages:
¡¤ Low gas permeability
¡¤ Good weather resistance and ozone resistance
¡¤ Resistance to movement, vegetable oil or chemical oxidation
¡¤ Used for making chemical resistant rubber parts for vacuum equipment
Disadvantages:
¡¤ It is not recommended to use with petroleum solvents, coking coal oil and aromatics

Applicable media:
¡¤ Superhot water and steam (121¡æ)
Glycol-based brake oil A variety of organic and inorganic acids
¡¤ Salt solution
¡¤ Polar solvents (alcohols, ketones, esters)
¡¤ Silicone oil and silicone ester
¡¤ Ozone resistance, aging resistance and weather resistance
Not suitable for media:
¡¤ Mineral oil and ester
¡¤ Fuel oil
¡¤ Chlorinated hydrocarbons
